Stroke Awareness Community Health Fair

May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and at Valley Baptist, we are committed to educating our community and assisting you in taking the first steps toward better health care. Each year, STROKE strikes approximately 795,000 Americans – killing 144,000 and forever changing the lives of many who survive. Please join us for this FREE event that will also feature presentations by two outstanding Physicians (Neurologist & Neurosurgeon) on the signs and symptoms, and the measures you can take to prevent the onset of a stroke. You will have the opportunity to ask questions after each of the following sessions: * Free for the first 100 people. Additional low cost screenings will be available.VBMC-Harlingen and VBMC-Brownsville are the only two hospitals in the Rio Grande Valley to be certified as ''Primary Stroke Centers'' by the national accrediting organization for health care facilities -- the Joint Commission.
