Social Media Conference

Conference goals are to provide a clear sense of direction regarding social media. Identify different social media outlets and help the nonprofit sector learn which better suits their outreach goals (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Youtube, etc.). Empower nonprofits to use Social Media to increase audience outreach, reaching more audience/volunteers/donors. Participants include leaders, staff and volunteers from government, municipalities, higher education, K-12 education, 501c3 nonprofit organizations, community groups, economic development corporations, health care entities, faith-based organizations, and chambers of commerce. State Rep. Veronica Gonzalez and State Rep. Aaron Peña will share insight as to how social media is revolutionizing the outreach of nonprofits and legislators and how each have incorporated this practice into their strategic campaigning to respective constituents.
