Learn about the History of Quilting

Window to the Past Speaker Series Sponsored by the San Benito Historical Society Admission is Free of Charge Pictured right is one of forty antique quilts ranging in age of 40 to 80 years old and scheduled to be presented in the ''Quilting through the Ages'' exhibit on January 17th at 6 pm in the San Benito Community Building. The quilt is owned by San Benito resident, Della Miller and is one of many quilts made the early 1950's by her mother (and Laura Wilson's) grandmother, Hallie Macomb who previously resided in Los Fresnos. The quilt, a scrappy log cabin, is made of various pieces of cotton, silk, and satin scraps and was machine pieced and hand quilted. Both Della and Laura are active quilters here in our community. Laura Wilson and quilting friends will present the antique quilt exhibit for the ''Windows to the Past'' project, sponsored by the San Benito Historical Society. Admission is free.
