Groundbreaking: Habitat for Humanity Legacy Home

Join the Harlingen Chamber and Habitat for Humanity of the Rio Grande Valley for the upcoming groundbreaking of their Legacy Home on Tuesday, December 20th!

The event will begin at 10 a.m. (221 E. Washington Ave.)

Since 1988, Habitat for Humanity of the Rio Grande Valley has been dedicated to the ideal that all people deserve to own a home that is both comfortable and affordable. Working in partnership with God, Habitat changes lives by enabling people who live in substandard housing to become responsible homeowners. Habitat is responsible for the construction of over 100 houses throughout the Valley. Located at 412 W. Ash Ave., off Business 83 in McAllen, Habitat offers a “hand up” and not a “hand out” to low income families from the four county region. Family partners must be hard working, low income residents that may not be able to qualify for a traditional mortgage.
