Credit & Identity Theft Seminar

Small business owners are invited to attend a free credit and identity theft seminar at the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce on February 10 from 2 to 4 pm. ''Credit & Identity Theft: Understanding & Protecting Credit Information for Small Businesses'' is designed to give business owners a better understanding of their credit as well as tips on how to prevent identity theft of personal and client information. Consumer Credit Counseling Service of South Texas expert Janie Alegria will discuss ways to improve personal credit by better managing debt. Attendees will learn about debt validation, debt consolidation, credit scores, and credit reporting agencies. A discussion on protecting identity information through document shredding and routinely reviewing credit card charges will also be given at this seminar. Pre-registration is required.
