'Under the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, an employer must provide a workplace free from recognized hazards that are causing, or are likely to cause, death or serious physical harm to its employees regardless of the size of the business. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was established to create standards and regulations that implement the Act.' On Friday August 1, 2014 the U.S Small Business Administration will host a workshop designed to inform participants how the Occupational Safety and Health Consultation (OSHCON) service can assist small businesses with understanding and complying with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA). OSHCON is a free counseling service available to private Texas employers through the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers' Compensation. Workshop Highlights include: ?
